Aquarelle Floral Mani

Hello guys,
I am very excited to show you the mani which I created few days back. For this particular mani I have used water colors!!! So, first of all lemme show the mani I created
I dunno how so many ladies create wonders using acrylic colors but I personally find it little bit difficult to use them. I have worked with acrylic colors in the past and I have noticed that once they dry up on your nails and you don't find the design so appealing and want to remove it,  then its hard to remove them with water (though it can be easily removed with water when it is wet). The second thing I encountered was that they do not mix well, I mean if you want two colors to have a blended kinda look then I find it difficult to achieve it (I may be encountering all these problems coz I don't use them regularly and not well versed with their use but these are my personal opinions). I wanted the colors to have a blended look and easy to work with and I have used water colors during my school and college days for art so I find the water colors easy to use but when I used then over a nail polish they did not stick well so I thought that these might not work over polish but then I came across some tuts on you tube as to how to use them over polish. So the first method is to first apply an acrylic color over polish and then working with water colors over it. White acrylic color as it will bring out the colors of water colors used over it. But then I thought it will just limit my use of other nail polishes as it won't matter what color polish I wear as I will have to cover it with white acrylic paint and moreover what if I have to design some small patterns???? So searched more on you tube and there I found the answer. The first option is to cover the polish with matte polish and then you can work with water colors and the second option is to layer the polish with clear polish and let it dry and then buff it slightly. The reason for these being that the water colors work well on etched surface and thus when you buff your nails or apply a matte top coat, it creates a rough surface and water colors can stick well on that. The plus pint with water colors is that they can be easily removed with water even after they dry up on the nails.
So, for creating the design for today's mani I applied a matte top coat over the polish and worked with water colors and they did work nicely and I was happy with the outcome.
So, enough said, here is the mani once again. The base color used is China Glaze's 'All Wrapped Up' form CG Holiglaze collection.

I hope you all liked it and if you try this then do lemme know.

My Christams Manis

Hi guys, so Christmas is over and I had participated in the Indian Lacquer Group's Christmas challenge and these are the manis which I created for the same.
Candy, Gifts, Angel, Christmas tree and wreath
The above design I did using water colors and it was not so good coz I came to know that these colors don't work well on a glossy surface but now I  learnt how to make them work over a polish and I have made a design using water colors which I will be posting soon. The image on the thumb is stamped using the image on MJ tester plate.
Ginger Bread Man
The above design is a simple design and I drew gingerbread man using acrylic color and the polka dots using polish in golden yellow and red over a green polish.
Reindeer
I felt so lethargic that I just changed the pattern on my ring finger and drew a reindeer on a glitter base and inside red polka dot I added green colored polka dots
Wrapping paper
I had bought some nail foils recently and I thought of using them for the challenge. Some foils worked very well and some didn't, well over all this was an experiment and a way to find out which all foils work well.
All that Glitters
I had purchased China Glaze Holiglaze collection from ebay and it arrived well in time and during the challenge, so I thought of using them for the challenge and I am so happy to own this collection. All the polishes are so glittery and I specially loved the chunky glitter polish having a mix of purple, blue, silver and white glitters.

So guys, these are the manis I created for the Christmas, I hope you liked them..

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallenge) Week 11- Artwork Featuring Three Favourite Polishes

Hey Fellas!!! I am Very happy as I had won an Instagram contest organized by Beaching Nails and My Online Shop last month and I had won three tester plates (Yipppeeee) and the prize got delivered to me a few days back.

Frankly speaking I was not a big fan of stamping, reason being, when I first tried stamping with my first ever Konad plate I bought, the images didn't stamp well even by using Konad special polishes and I thought that I did something wrong and this is not my forte. I used to get so awwweed by the other stampers, I wondered how they stamped so well. Later on I realized that the image plate which I had bought was faulty and it was not my fault, AT ALL!!! But I didn't buy any more plates either, but an opportunity knocked on my phone (lols) and I entered the contest and I won the plates and as soon as the plates arrived I tried stamping with them and what I saw was that my most of the polishes work fine with stamping and so I thought of doing stamping for this week's ILL challenge and this is what I created-
I am very new to this stamping world, so please pardon me for any mistakes I had done. The polishes I have used are-
1. Street Wear #37 (Yellow Delight)
2. Sally Hansen #40 (Coral Reef)
3. Kleancolor #79 (Light Red)

The reason I used this polish is that the yellow is my favorite yellow and this is the second bottle I am using of it. I am in love with Coral color now days and the particular coral color polish was gifted to me by Rajani and I so love this color. Kleancolor is a new brand that I am using but I have fallen in love with it, the polishes are so fast drying and this red color is so good and gives a nice red color in just one coat.
For stamping I have used two images from the MJ plate No. XXV. The images are crisp and stamp very well and I have my faith restored in stamping.
Hope you like the design, do let me know by leaving the comments below.

Thanks

Foil Marbling- My Anniversary Nails a New Experiment

Hello guys!!! So it was second marriage anniversary on 30 November (how time flies by!!!) and I wore this mani for the occasion.
This was my new experiment with foils and I call it Foil Marbling!!! Yessss FOIL MARBLING!!!! (Lols). It is just like dry marbling but to add on the effect I added foil to it. The colors I have used for the mani are Zoya 'Lulu' which is a nice nude shade, Elle 18 '#53' which is a blue color and i have used silver foil and foil glue for sticking the foil.

The steps are simple and is done the same way as done in dry marbling. After applying the base coat, I applied a generous amount of the nude color polish and then I applied 2-3 dots of blue color polish and foil glue randomly while the nude color was still wet. With the marbling tool (you can use any brush like a striping brush or tooth pick) I mixed the colors well (they can be mixed in any way you like).  I then let it dry completely, the foil glue is opaque when its wet but when it dries it becomes transparent, the glue should be completely dry before proceeding on to next step otherwise the foil will not stick well. I then took a silver color foil and pressed it on the nails (you would have to press it many times for the foil to stick), the areas where there was foil glue the foil stuck on it and then I applied the topcoat to seal in the design.
The image above is taken in the night so is dark. Hope you like my experiment and if you try this then do let me know and post the pics on my FB page.
Please do leave a comment below to tell me what you fell about the design.

Thanks

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallenge) Week 10- Stripes/Lines

Hello guys!!! So this is the 10th week of the Indian Lacquer Challenge and the theme for this week was 'Stripes/Lines'. So here is the mani I created for the same-
It is a very simple design and the colors I have used are-
1. Kleancolor - #157 'Metallic White'
2. Colorbar- #15 'Exclusive'
3. Acrylic color- Turquoise Blue
4. Brown Color Glitters

After applying base coat I applied two coats of metallic white color and let it dry. After that I applied colorbar 'Exclusive' which a light teal in color. The color has been given to me as Diwali swap gift by a very sweet friend of mine- Rajani Bhatt. I applied the color in diagonal checkered style and let it dry, then with a a thin brush dipped in the turqouise blue acrylic color, I made thin lines between the checkered design. Applied a top coat and then put glitters (which I had bought form a local stationary shop) where the lines intersected while the top coat was still wet. I then again applied a top coat to seal in the design.

I also applied a matte top coat just to see which one looks best- matte or shiny and here is the pic with matte top coat. The matte top coat is of China glaze called 'Matte Magic'.

I can't decide which one looks best so you guys help me!!! Hope you liked the design, do let me know by commenting below.

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallenge) Week 9- Try a New Technique

Hello guys, here I am with yet another week of a nail art challenge by Indian Lacquer Lovers and the theme for this week was "Try a New Technique" and I was planning to do fish tail braid mani for a long time and so I tried to do this mani for this week's theme. This is how it turned out

I saw various videos on you tube as to how to do this mani because it seemed to be complicated to me but when I saw the videos I felt that its not that tough. I thought of giving it some twist and so I used a matte polish and gold foil to achieve the look.
The red polish I have used is of Kleancolor and the name of the polish is 'Light Red'. For the matte effect I have used the matte top coat 'Matte Magic' by China Glaze. The foils are from Born Pretty Store.
The braids have not turned out perfect in all the fingers but the middle and the pinkie finger looks nicely braided.

The pictures have been taken in dim light so are not that good. I have not applied a top coat as it would have ruined the matte effect. So this effect can be achieved with many combination and would look good. Hope you liked my experiment, do lemme know by leaving comments below.

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallnege) Week 8- Gradient and Pattern Nails

Hello everyone!!! So I missed the last two challenges but I did wear the mani for the Diwali festival and coincidentally it matched with the theme of the week (yeyyyy!!!). I used the colors which matched the saree I wore for the festival :D

 The colors used are-
1. Pink- Sally Hansen 'Coral Reef'
2. Green- Some local Brand
3. White- Faces 'Snow White
4. Glitter- Kleancolor 'Diamond Pink'
5. Hearts- Kleancolor ' Twinkly Love'

Apply a base coat of your choice and after it dries apply the white polish. The reason I apply white polish before gradating is that the colors get shear when you sponge them and they will not come out as desired if you do not use white base color and so the colors come out come out nicely over a white base (This is my personal experience!!!). After the white color dries, put the pink color and green color over the sponge and sponge lightly over your nails, let it dry and sponge again so that you get a solid color. When the color is still wet, apply a clear polish over it so that the colors mix well and you get a nice gradiated look.  Now let it dry and then on tips apply the glitter polish. You can leave it as such but I applied the hearts to give it some edge. The hearts are not studs but its a polish, yessss polish. It is a polish by Kleancolor in which the different color hearts are in the clear polish, the problem with polish is that the hearts don't come out every time you pull the brush put of the bottle so I literally had to fetch the individual hearts out of the bottle!!! After you are done apply a top coat to seal in your design.

Hope you all liked the simple design, please do leave comment and let me know your take on the design.

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallnege) Week 5- Festive

Hi guys!! How you all have been??? I have been very busy with the Diwali festival and had gone to my in laws place for the festival and so did not get any time to post. Today I am here with the week five of the ILL nail challenge and the theme was festive, so I submitted my Diwali mani which I had created last year. here it is

The polishes I haved used are-
Blue- Revlon 'Royal
Black- Elle 18 '#35'
LA Colors- Golden Glitter
Acrylic colors in yellow and orange

Starting with the base coat, I applied the blue color as my base and gradiated with black color on all the fingers except middle and thumb, on which I applied black color to form a curvy triangular design which will depict the 'diya'. With yellow and orange acrylic colors I drew the flame of the diya and topped all the fingers with golden glitter and sealed the design with the top coat.

I hope you all liked the design. Do let me know by leaving comments below.

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallnege) Week 4- Floral

Hello lovelies......... How are you all??? I am suppa happy as me, my hubby and one more couple  visited Vaishno Devi during navratras and we got the darshan very nicely so I am feeling all blessed. I was very tired and so could not post the pics for this week's ILL nail challenge, which was floral, on time. So, I am posting the pics today

I am giving it a name- Blingy Floral
For the base I have used Coloressence's Barbie Pink, which is pink in color. The shiny diamond shaped glitters are from born pretty store.  I have drawn the flowers using the nail art pen from born pretty store which I had reviewed earlier and the link to that is here.
To paste the glitteres I applied top coat over the design nad placed individual glitter in betwwen the flower petals. On the accent finger I did the same thing i.e. applied top coat over the pink color and picked the individual glitter by a toothpick and placed it over the nail. I sealed the whole design with a top coat.

Now something about the glitters. The glitters come in tiny pot and are loose and give multiple colors when shine.

They come in various other colors and can be with nail polishes or with acrylics as well.

The quantity that comes is good and will last for long.

Buy the glitters here and don't forget to use the coupon code DVG10 to get additional 10 Percent site wide discount.

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallnege) Week 3- Halloween Nail Art

So guys, this is the third week of the Indian Lacquer Challenge (I missed the second week :( ) and the theme for this week was Halloween or nail art using oldest untried polish, so, I decided to do the former one i.e. Halloween theme. For this I searched the internet for some images and then I decided on the few images to be used for my mani. The mani looked like this-

Polishes used are-
1. Sally Hansen #300 (White On)
2. Elle 18 #35 (Black
3. Colorbar #095 (Tangerine Mojito)
4. Street Wear #37 (Yellow Delight)
5. Faces #12 (Bronze)
6. Acrylic colors in black, yellow, green and orange

To start off, first I applied a base coat and let it dry, then I applied black color on my thumb and on rest fingers I applied white nail polish. After the white polish dried, I took a sponge and mixed the orange color, little bit yellow polish and very small amount of black and brown polish and sponged it over the fingers with white polish on. With yellow and orange acrylic colors I drew eyes, nose amd mouth on the thumb, with yellow acrylic I  drew the sun and with black acrylic the silouetthe of a dried tree and a tomb on the index finger. On the middle finger I drew a some bats flying around a tree on which pumpkins are hanging, on ring finger a creepy old house and on pinkie a cat with big green eyes.

The above two images are taken with a flash on.

On the above image, the left one is of thumb and the right one is the rest of the fingers.

There are bubbles in the image and thus I need to change my top coat, so please suggest me a good one girls..........

Hope you liked my attempt, I love to read your comments, so please do leave one.

Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge (#ILLnailChallnege) Week 1- Polka Dots

Hello guys!!!!
How you all have been??? I have been a bit busy with all office and household chores.  but today I am here with a polka dot mani. This mani I have created under the various nail art challenges by an Indian Nail Art lovers Group the 'Indian Lacquer Lovers'. The group consist of all the lovely ladies of Indian origin from across the world. The group decided to have weekly nail art challenges and the theme for this week was 'Polka Dots'. I was thinking of what colors to choose for the mani and then I thought of merging this challenge with another challenge by 'The Sparkle Queen' called #HePicksMyPolish, in which a guy be it your brother, your boy friend, your hubby, your son, your dad, your neighbor, i mean whoever but it has to be essentially a 'GUY', picks 1-3 polishes of his choice and you have to create a mani using those three colors only. So, i asked my hubby to pick three polishes for me and he PIcked-
1. Street Wear #37- Yellow Delight
2. China Glaze Neon- In the limelight
3. China Glaze Neon- Pink Voltage

These three colors were really very different and the mani I created is-
The pictures were a bit hazy no matter how hard I tried!!! So I took one picture with flash on.
Without Flash On
With Flash On
So here is my Simple mani which I created and I hope you all like it. Please do leave you valuable comments...........

My First Ever Blog Award- The Liebster :)

Hello guys!!! I am super duper excited to write this particular blog post today as I have been nominated for my first ever blog award by Jem of  Nail Jems

The basic purpose of the award is to help upcoming and new blogs to get recognition and for that you need to be nominated by some other blogger (like I was nominated by Jems). Once nominated, The rules to be followed are:
  1. You must link back to the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Answer the 11 questions given to you by the blogger who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers.
  4. Go to the blogs you nominated and notify them of your nomination.
  5. Give your nominees 11 questions to answer.
The questions asked to me by Jems and my answers to the questions are as follows-

1. What made you start blogging?
Once I was just browsing the facebook and I saw pictures of beautiful manicures and I was like how do they do it??!!! I then searched videos in the youtube and I discovered that the nail art community is a very big community and has been there for a very long time (I thought that its just a new thing :P) and that there are so many ways in which you can do a nail art. I discovered the use of acrylic paints for nail art (I was like wow!!! you can use acrylic paint for that as well!!!!). I then bought my nail art supplies and started my own journey. Initially the things did not turn out very well but then it was all good . I started my FB page and became member of various nail art groups. I then discovered that people blog about their nail art works (I was surprised here as well, because I thought that blogs are just to write about some random stuff..... I never thought that blogs can be used for this purpose as well). I saw that there are blogs which have a very huge following and have been here for many years, so getting inspiration for those fellow bloggers I thought that I should also write about my passion, my nail arts and so with this thought I started my blogging journey and its so far so good!!! :)

2. Who?What inspired you to do nail art?
As I have mentioned in my first answer that I discovered that the nail art community is very big so I was inspired by many people, whose videos I saw and admired. I can not name only one person who inspired me.

3. Stuck on an island...you can take one nail polish, one manicure tool, one nail treatment, and one kind of nail art decoration... which?
Ummmm....... I wish I could take my whole box with me because it is just difficult to select just one polish but as I have to name just one so I guess I will take OPI's #NL G18 ( Every month is Oktoberfest) with me which is right now my favourite colour  One manicure tool I will be taking along with me will be my Ranara 180/240 grit nail filer. One treatment which I will be taking along with me will be my base coat coz I don't want to yellow my nails and one nail art decoration which I will be taking along will be my golden nail art foil.

4. Who are your favourite nail artists and why?
I don't have any particular favourite, the nail art of one's I like, they become my favourite.

5. Which nail art technique do you have most difficulty with?
The answer to that question will definitely definitely be WATER MARBLING!!! I really like that technique and the designs just awwwww... me but when I start doing it I, most of the times, just fail!!! I just get mesmerized by the designs it create and just bow before the people who can get that technique right in just one go.

6. What other hobbies do you have after nail art?
I just don't get enough time to have enough of this nail art hobby as I have to go to office and then do household chores as well but whenever I get time, I just like to read novels.

7. Other than nail polish what's the one thing in your life that you can't live without? (thing not person!)
My answer to that would be the game 'Candy Crush Saga', the game is so addictive that you just like to play it always and don't want your lives to end.

8. What is your dream job?
Wow!!! I would like to do the thing which I like so my dream job is to have my own nail art salon (really).

9. What would your dream house be like?
I don't want a very big house, I want to have a two room set, with a big hall, the balcony should be facing the mountains, or the ocean. I really want to have a big bathroom though, having a nice bathtub in it.

10. What would you advise for someone wanting to start a blog?
Hmmmm..... First of all, just have positive thoughts before starting a blog, its really tough to compete with the other bloggers having a huge followers but remember they were also at our stage once, so, as the time will pass by, you will also get recognition. To boost up your followers, post about your blog posts in various nail art groups, ask other bloggers to visit your blog and do follow the other bloggers because it really is a give and take kinda thing. Participate in various nail art competition and challenges and do appreciate other bloggers and artist for the work they have done.

Blue Waves

Heya guys!!! How you all have been?? I have been busy with some household chore (dealing with TERMITE INFESTATION!!! and it was so gross..ewwwww....) but I took sometime out and thought of doing water marbling!! Though I suck at it but still can't give up, can I ever (never)!!! So first of all let me show you the design

The design was satisfactory and I could get the results not giving much efforts (like I used to in some of my previous marbling experiments still they never turned..... ummm..... anything good :P)

Polishes used are:
For base I used White- Faces Ultime Pro #23 (Snow White)
For marbling I used-
1. Jessica- # 653 (Indigo Glow)
2. Maybelline Colorama- Perla
3. OPI- #NL G18 (Every month is Oktoberfest)
over the marbled design I applied two coats of NYX #37 (Pink Avenue) which is sort of a flaky glitter polish.

Overall the design turned out fine. So tell me what do you feel about the design and leave some comments down.

Floral

Hello guys!!! I am here with a new mani. I did this mani in a hurry and I was so uninspired :( so did not came up that nice but anyways here is the picture of the mani.

Products used-
1. Brown polish: Faces #12 (Bronze)
2. Yellow polish: Street Wear #37 (Yello Delight)
3. Green glitter: LA Colors
4. purple glitter: LA colors
5. Acrylic colors: Orange, Yellow, Green, Lavender

Procedure-
After applying a base coat, cover all your nails brown except that of ring finger, which is to be colored with yellow color. Dab green glitter on the tips of brown color and purple glitter on the yellow color. Now apply a clear polish (this is optional, I have a top coat applied to give my nails a smooth finish before going to next step). Using green acrylic color and fine paint brush, draw two wavy lines and some leaves on all the nails. Now using yellow acrylic color draw flower petals with gentle motions over the nails painted with brown polish and use lavender color to draw flowers over the yellow polish. With orange color draw a dot in between the yellow flowers and with yellow color draw dot in between lavender color flowers. Let it dry, apply a  topcoat to seal in your design.

The design is not so unique but do leave me your feedback and comments, I love to read them.

xoxo
